Marine Layer’s Respun Program

Marine Layer takes your old t-shirts and gives them a second life as fresh, super-soft garments. It’s a smart way to recycle and keep things stylish while doing something good for the planet. Who knew saving the environment could look this good.

THE BENEFITS OF MARINE LAYER’S CIRCULAR IMPACT

Sustainability at its core

The recycling program has kept over half a million tees out of landfills. By upcycling old garments into new ones, Marine Layer ensures that fewer raw materials are used, cutting down on the environmental impact associated with traditional clothing production.

Closed-Loop Production

Marine Layer is one of the few brands committed to a completely closed-loop system, meaning that every step—from collecting old garments to creating new ones—contributes to reducing waste and promoting sustainability.

Eco-Friendly, Stylish,and Comfortable

The Re-Spun line offers the same high quality, softness, and style that Marine Layer is known for, but with the added benefit of being made from 50% recycled materials.

At our annual retreat this year in Denver, we decided to do something impactful. We invited everyone to bring five shirts to the event to donate as part of our first-ever Marine Layer Clothing Drive. The response was overwhelming—we collected 250 shirts, all of which were sent to Marine Layer to be upcycled into new garments through their innovative Re-Spun Program.
