A Team Workshop Rooted in Creativity

That’s why our recent “Rooted in Creativity - Air Plant Terrarium Workshop,” hosted in partnership with The Little Shop of Horticulture, was such a success! Designed as a fully remote team-bonding experience, this interactive event brought us closer together while providing everyone with a meaningful keepsake and hands-on plant expertise.
Prepping for Creativity
The magic started well in advance of the workshop. The Little Shop of Horticulture handled shipping the terrarium supply kits directly to our employees’ homes. With their worldwide shipping capabilities, every Whitestone employee received their kit on time, no matter their location.
The kits were thoughtfully packaged, complete with everything needed for the workshop and detailed plant care instructions. The standout item? A custom wooden stake, engraved with our Whitestone logo. For future client events, we can work with The Little Shop to customize these details for any brand, ensuring personalization and alignment with your company’s identity.
Building and Bonding
The workshop itself was the perfect creative escape to reset our days. We started with an overview of the kit contents, as The Little Shop’s owner, Kristin, explained the purpose of each item and shared their commitment to sourcing materials locally. They guided us step by step through building our air plant terrariums—from layering colorful sand to arranging plants and decorative pieces.
We chose between design styles, learned tips for plant care, and channeled our inner artists to create their own unique masterpieces. The interactive nature of the workshop shone through during the live demos and creative periods, where everyone was encouraged to truly make the project their own.
To keep the energy lively, The Little Shop team spiced things up with plant trivia (our trivia champ, Joe, stole the show!). Throughout the event, we also learned about their scalability, travel options, and customization capabilities.

The workshop wrapped up with a group photo of everyone proudly holding their terrariums, and the excitement didn’t end there. Our Slack channels were buzzing with photos, compliments, and cats curious about these plants as colleagues showed off their creations. The event left a lasting impression, sparking connection and creativity long after the last decorative stone had been placed.
